I contacted Structural Surveys after receiving a rather concerning Level 3 home survey report. I provided them with a copy of the report and they pointed me in the right direction of they survey I required. Structural Surveys attended the property arranging all access with the estate agent and as stated sent the report on the next working day. The report was easy to follow and covered all the worrying points from the previous survey which confirmed that the house was structurally sound. If I had just got the previous survey I would have pulled out of the house sale, but luckily these guys were able to provide me with the facts and recommendations. Having had a few potentially structural issues raised on a standard Homebuyers survey from another company, I needed to get a more detailed structural survey done to highlight the extent of the issues, and also to get a rough idea of what type of repairs or remedial action might be needed. Having not been through this process before I was unsure of exactly what I really needed, but the sample report seemed to fit what I was after, so I booked a full structural survey. After getting the report back, I can say that it with was exactly what I was looking for. It matched the items from the other survey, but being structural it went into a lot of detail about the extent of the issues, potential causes and recommended solutions. In my case it offered a good deal of clarity and the suggested solutions provided some good reassurance. The cost was fair and easily justified, the time from enquiry to report was quick, and everyone I had contact with was friendly and professional.

The survey report was delivered at highest standards with detailed descriptions of all problems, and explanatory macro photos. Structural Surveys provided a survey for a non standard steel framed construction property I am purchasing. The booking process was seamless and I was given a date within two weeks of my initial enquiry. The administration team contacted the estate agents to arrange the date with the vendor which meant I did not have to relay messages, times or dates. Whilst I wasn’t present due to not owning the property at the time of the survey, the estate agents reported that the vendor found the engineer polite, professional and unobtrusive. The report was received the following working day and was detailed, thorough and worded in such a way that I could easily understand it. The survey has allowed me to prioritise work required within the next 12 months and budget for work which will be required longer term. We required a structural survey to follow up on some issues highlighted during our RICS Level 3 building survey of a prospective house purchase. We were struggling to find a local surveyor with availability any time soon and had experienced some disappointing customer service during phone calls with other companies – when we struck gold with Structural Surveys. Siobhan was a breathe of fresh air on the phone – professional and attentive to our requirements. She got us booked in on their next available date, in just 3 weeks’ time. A massive relief for us to get it arranged so soon, when the housing market and associated survey services were and still are exceedingly busy! All the subsequent correspondence received from Siobhan and the team at Structural Surveys was very clear and efficient, and I received prompt responses to all queries sent. They also communicated effectively with the vendor, to arrange and sent reminders about the engineer’s visit. Following the structural survey, I received the report within 24 hours, as assured by the company. The report was clearly written and very thorough, with detailed specifications of remedial works needed. The inspection was very thorough and the detailed report arrived the next day, clearly outlining aspects of the property that needed attention. It was good to have the reassurance that nothing major was wrong. I was due to have an operation a couple of days after the inspection and the surveyor kindly did a Covid test prior to his visit. Jane dealt with our initial enquiry, contacting us after we input our details to an online price comparison website. She was very knowledgeable about products that are supplied as well as knowing the surveyors by first name and able to an instant background on them. The survey itself was carried out to a very in-depth and high standard, much higher than previous surveys that we have had for over twice the cost. The survey was presented very nicely in PDF 18 hours after it was completed, this did not incur an extra charge and is standard for the company. Not a recommendation but I forgot to pay my bill before the survey was carried out, complete oversight on my behalf as everything is explained perfectly. The reminder that I got was one of the most polite and possibly the most polite that I have ever received and follow up once payment was complete was again first class. I recently required structural calculations for the insertion of a beam to facilitate the installation of bi fold doors. The engineer spent a long time looking into my problem and also was interested in the insurers 8 years old report of which he was critical as there was no mention in the previous report as to the cause of the problem which had reoccurred. I recently contacted Structural surveys to provide a report on the reasons for the crackling on a property, the result was a very detailed report explaining the reasons [not subsidence , just thermal expansion cracking] , and ways to repair the problem. the report was completed within 24hrs after a 1-2 hour survey but my mind was put at rest during the visit.
